Greater Patchogue coverage is funded in part by New Village at Patchogue, offering open-concept rental residences with contemporary design in the heart of downtown Patchogue.
Angels of Long Island Thrift Store & Boutique celebrated its grand opening in Bellport this past weekend, moving from its longtime Patchogue home to a more affordable space.
The store marked the occasion Sunday, Nov. 1, at 10 Farber Drive inside Bellport Outlets after a decade at 350 E. Main St. in Patchogue.
Owner Debbie Loesch told Greater Long Island she had considered moving for years, but the search became more pressing as the Patchogue lease came to an end.
The Bellport location offers roughly the same amount of space at a lower rent, she said, along with a convenient area for donation drop-offs.
The move came together quickly, requiring extra help to pack and transport a fully stocked store.
The transition also took a financial toll, Loesch said.
The new space has a more open layout, she said, and carries the same mix of new and gently used merchandise, including seasonal items for holiday shoppers.
Loesch said she plans to maintain the storeโs affordable pricing and continue supporting local causes, including efforts to help people experiencing homelessness and domestic violence.
โItโs an incredible place to shop,โ she told Greater Long Island. โRight now in the economy, retail is horrendous โฆ everything we offer is super affordable and the proceeds support the Long Island community.โ
Angels of Long Island is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
