The Town of Babylon is getting into the Valentine’s Day spirit.
Town Clerk Gerry Compitello will be hosting a first-of-a-kind Wedding Marathon at Town Hall on Thursday, Feb. 14.
“This year I wanted to do something extra special,” Compitello announced in a Facebook video. “Who needs Vegas, when you can come to Babylon Town Hall?”
From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., the board room will be transformed into a wedding chapel that includes a photo booth, refreshments, music and Valentine’s Day decorations.
“Your wedding day is a day to celebrate your love, commitment, and friendship with the person that you have chosen to spend the rest of your life with,” Compitello told GreaterBabylon. “This will be a really special event.”
The ceremony and reception are free, the only cost is the $40 fee for a marriage license. The weddings can be performed in English, Spanish, Polish or Creole.
According to Compitello, the nuptials will be booked on a first-come basis.
The deadline to apply to get married on this special day is Friday, Feb. 8.
