About 150 volunteers picked up their aprons for this year’s ‘Souper Bowl of Caring” cooking and baking competition in Babylon.
The second annual event, which was hosted at Babylon Junior-Senior High School on Jan. 27, drew crowds that ranged from students to faculty to residents at large.
Together, there was a series of cook-offs and bake-offs to see who could create the best dishes — from chili to cakes.
The efforts from the participants helped raise $3,300, which was donated to the Children’s Cancer Research Fund and Save the Great South Bay organizations.
There was also a collection box filled with nonperishable goods for a hunger relief organization called Rock Can Roll.
“The district congratulates all the individuals and teams who participated and were recognized for their delicious contributions to both the Cake-off and Cook-off competitions,” read a statement by the Babylon School district in a press release.
