Bethpage Federal Credit Union recently celebrated the opening of its newest branch on Long Island, located at the Station Yards development across from the Ronkonkoma LIRR station.
The branch officially opened over the summer, and on Oct. 9, Bethpage’s team, led by President and CEO Linda Armyn, hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the occasion.
“We are thrilled to be a part of this modern, transformative project, and look forward to becoming an active member of the Station Yards community, working hand in hand with the area’s residents and businesses, for many years to come.” said Armyn.
Joining Armyn at the ceremony were several community leaders, including NYS Assemblyman Doug Smith, Congressman Andrew Garbarino, NYS Senator Dean Murray, Brookhaven Councilmember Neil Foley, and Suffolk County Legislator Leslie Kennedy.
With this addition, Bethpage now has 36 branches, the majority of which are on Long Island, with additional locations in Queens and one in Cherry Hill, N.J.
This new location also marks the first financial institution to open at Station Yards, a development designed to be a vibrant hub at which to live, work and play.
“Bethpage’s commitment to excellence and community empowerment perfectly aligns with our vision for this development,” said Jimmy Coughlan, Vice President for TRITEC Development Group. “Together, we are creating a space where businesses thrive, and individuals find a sense of belonging. Bethpage is an ideal tenant offering full-service financial support to enrich the lives of residents, commuters, and visitors.”
Station Yards’ current phase, known as The Core, includes 388 apartments and over 80,000 square feet of retail and office space. The 53-acre redevelopment project is set to transform what was once a blighted area across from the Ronkonkoma LIRR station into a thriving community space.
Once complete, Station Yards will feature 1,450 apartments, 195,000 square feet of retail, and 360,000 square feet of office space. TRITEC finished the initial phase, Alston Station Yards, in 2021 with 489 apartments. Earlier this year, residents began moving into The Core, the latest addition to this evolving Long Island development. This month, TRITEC began Phase 2A of the project, which will bring another 175 new apartments to Ronkonkoma. Read more below.
