That Meetball Place in Patchogue has long had a split personality.
By day, it was a quiet family restaurant for supper. By night, it was like a raucous club.
Brunch All Weekend at TMP ties it all together.
“Lively,” is the word general manager Marianthy Katsiafas uses to describe it. “This is not your mother’s brunch,” she stresses. Word has spread.
Indeed, if you’re looking to crash brunch anytime after 12 p.m. on a Saturday or Sunday, you’ll be left out in the cold. The brunches have gotten so popular that people have to call days ahead of time for reservations, says executive chef Thomas Fazio. The hours run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The scene, Fazio says, is fueled by fun, and really great food, something TMP wasn’t exactly known for before he came on board.
“The brunch menu is meant to be whimsical, tongue in cheek, and very Instagramable,” he said.
Take the Bamm-Bamm waffles (pictured above), which are cooked with Fruity Pebbles and Fruit Loops, then topped with whipped cream, raspberry sauce and vanilla sauce.
“And it looks like Tony Montana went to town on it with the powdered sugar,” he laughed.
The food is meant to be worth the drive in and of itself.
“The Hangover hash browns is one of our more popular dishes,” he said. “The lobster grilled cheese is killer.”
He also suggests the shrimp po’ boy sliders and corned beef eggs Benedict.

As for brunch, “we’re focused on the party,” he said. “But we’re also focused on the food.”
