Donatina Neapolitan Pizza Cafe is now open seven days a week in Patchogue.
The new Italian restaurant and world pizza emporium, which is located on 18 West Avenue, has been operating on a part-time basis since September.
Now, the owner, John Peragine, is ready to take the next step.
“The response has been great since we opened,” said Peragine, who also co-owns PeraBell Food Bar in Patchogue.
Donatina sells Neapolitan-style pizzas cooked crisp in the wood-burning oven, as well as traditional New York slices, Chicago pan pizza, and even Detroit-style pizza.
A full menu with pasta dishes and dinners will roll out later this month.
The Detroit pizza has already created a buzz at the shop, says Peragine.
“We are selling more of the Detroit than our regular New York slices,” he said.
For the uninitiated, Detroit slices are rectangular in shape with a thicker crust and different toppings, with the sauce on top of the cheese.
“It’s not on Long Island; it is booming in [New York City] and all over the country,” Peragine told GreaterPatchogue.
hours of operation
Currently, the 2,400-square-foot restaurant is open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m or 10 p.m.., 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and noon to 9 p.m. on Sundays.
Going forward, Donatina will be expanding its hours to be open as late as 3 a.m. during the spring and summer time. Scroll down to see photos of the restaurant.
