Great Eats: Five South Shore spots for organic, vegan and vegetarian food

By  | We went from Bay Shore to Patchogue in search of five great places for organic, vegan and vegetarian food. Here’s what we found.

Tula Kitchen, Bay Shore

At Tula, almost everything is organic or all-natural, so you will know exactly what you are putting into your body. The menu is full of options for breakfast, lunch and dinner with the most popular being the Almond-Crusted Chicken, the Sesame Tuna (pictured), the Veggie Moussaka and the Tempeh Reuben. There’s even a children’s menu.

For breakfast, you can have the Hot Oatmeal Bake or the indulgent Nutella Stuffed French Toast, and for lunch you can fill up on Shrimp Pasta or the Three Amigos which includes a scoop of each: vegan chicken salad, vegan tuna salad and vegan egg salad.

For dinner, the menu includes seven vegetarian options, which is about six more than a regular restaurant. Tula is perfect for a romantic dinner out with your love or a casual lunch with your friends. Many menu items are allergen-free, so you can truly savor every bite.
