Great Eats: Five South Shore spots for organic, vegan and vegetarian food

|

Wild Side Organic Bistro & Bar, Oakdale

If you’ve made the choice to eat all organic, vegan or vegetarian, you may think that dining out is not something that you can comfortably do. Well, you will be relieved to know that Wild Side has come to your rescue.

The most popular menu items are the wood-fired pizzas with all organic ingredients. There are several varieties of pizza including a totally vegan and dairy-free Kale Pizza, a signature Curried Lamb Pizza, a Parmigiana and the basic Margherita. For lunch, you can get a pizza or an appetizer with a salad on the side for $15, and you won’t leave hungry. On Sundays, there is a Bottomless Brunch for $25.

The restaurant even has a full-service bar with locally sourced alcohol and organic mixers and garnishes. The chef/owner Jay Jadeja grew up in India and lived all over the world, so the food has eclectic flavors.

“Regardless of what region Jay is drawing from for a dish, you can rest assured it is executed in a most authentic way,” said Raquel Wolf-Jadeja, co-owner of Wild Side. Chef Jay uses grass-fed beef and organic chicken, they make their own cheese and their food has zero GMOs.

Now, that’s unique.
