Greater LI tops 1 million pageviews in 1 month for the first time ever

|

It was a banner month for greaterlongisland.com, to say the least.

What’s emerged as a truly regional news resource for Long Islanders topped 1 million pageviews in a single month for the first time ever. The site tallied 1.08 million pageviews in January. That number came from 851,027 unique visitors.

“Our small team of local journalists is now, quite officially and definitively, throwing up numbers that rival billion-dollar news companies in the U.S.,” said publisher Michael White. “I couldn’t be more excited about what the future holds for Greater Long Island and our readers. For them, we’ll continue to deliver top-notch news stories every day.”

The plan now as always, White said, is to reinvest.

To that end, Greater Long Island in January also made crucial updates to its iPhone app. Download GLI’s free app to get local news updates pushed to your phone. There are also plans in the works to introduce an ad-free app with a nominal subscription fee. Or click here for our weekly newsletter.
