Here’s a sneak peek at the new Brightwaters Commons

|

After three years of planning and over a year of construction, The Brightwaters Commons is almost ready to be revealed.

The village staple, located at 344 and 348 North Windsor Ave., underwent a complete makeover.

The strip of stores now includes a tower and vestibule with a weathervane, as well as a new siding, roofing, and pillars.

Teresa Alessandro, real estate broker and project coordinator for the center, said there have been talks of who will take over the two spaces available for rent, but nothing has been finalized yet.

At 344 North Windsor Ave. was formerly the Caputo’s Cards store and the larger, corner space at 348 North Windsor Ave., was previously home to Brightwaters Hardware.

348 North Windsor Ave. has undergone a modernized renovation, Alessandro said. This includes utility upgrades such as electric, gas, water, and grease traps, to meet any new tenant’s needs.

Alessandro said as of right now, this particular space is being shown to restauranteurs and possible retailers.

The corner shop is also being advertised by Alessandro as a pop-up indoor market concept for the summer.

If the plans go forward, the store can include up to seven vendors and there will be space for outdoor seating.

“With the economic turn statewide due to COVID-19, we’re enthusiastic about utilizing the spacious and new storefront in unique ways,” Alessandro said.

Residents can visit the Brightwaters Commons Instagram page for updates, as well as weekly surveys regarding parking and design elements for the building.

“It certainly has been a group effort between the owner, construction and tradesmen, and the village to get this building refreshed,” Alessandro said. “We’d like to think it is the best looking piece of real estate in town now, and a staple as one of the ‘Four Corners.'”
