Hummus Fit opens in Lindenhurst on March 14

|

Hummus Fit — nutritious, Meditteranean food options and guilt-free snacks — are coming to Lindenhurst, healthy food-to-go chain Hummus Mediterranean announced.

Hummus Fit is set to open at 40 Sunrise Highway. Existing locations are in Deer Park, Ronkonkoma, Selden and Holbrook.

Liana Mavruk, who owns the main Holbrook store and runs the business with her husband Tony, said based on their customer demographic, Lindenhurst seemed the ideal spot to launch their second Hummus Fit.

“In the Lindenhurst area, there are five gyms in the vicinity,” Mavruk said. “It looks like it’s a nice area, and we have a few friends that go to the gym over there, so it’s more of like word of mouth for us and a lot of demand over there as well.”

Liana and Tony Mavruk are longtime gym-goers and health enthusiasts.

Tony Mavruk has worked in the fitness industry on Long Island for about 15 years and Liana is a nutritionist and former competitive bodybuilder.

Hummus Meditteranean is an assembly-style restaurant in Selden and Holbrook that allows patrons to build their own fresh Meditteranean bowls and sandwiches.

The Hummus Fit spots in Ronkonkoma, Deer Park and now Lindenhurst offer more fitness-focused, meal preparation services.

Hummus Fit Lindenhurst has a soft opening planned for Monday, March 14, and will be open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. that week. Its grand opening celebration is Saturday, March 19, where sponsored athletes, friends, family and community members are expected to attend.

This new location will not only be the chain’s largest store, but it will offer the largest variety of to-go prepared meals, protein snacks, supplements and nutrition plans.

“There’s triple the amount of space and fridges … I personally make the Buffin’ Muffins, which is a protein muffin, that will be there in quantity as well,” Lisa Mavruk said.

The space is also big enough to include seating, she said, so customers can hang out and enjoy their meals.

Giving back to the communities they serve is an important part of Hummus Fit’s agenda and Mavruk said they plan to continue this mission in Lindenhurst.

“Everyone is super excited about it,” Mavruk said. “We live for the community.”
