Bojangles is bringing its Southern-style chicken and biscuits back to New York — starting in East Flatbush.
The fast-food chain announced it will open this winter, marking the first of 20 locations planned specifically for the five boroughs over the next decade.
“The East Coast is craving the authentic, Southern charm that Bojangles delivers, and we’re excited to introduce locals to something new,” said Bojangles CEO Jose Armario.
The menu features fried chicken, biscuit sandwiches, tenders, salads, sweet potato pie, peach cobbler — and breakfast served all day.
Franchise operator Habib Hashimi said he’s confident locals will “fall in love with the Southern flavors, hospitality and convenience Bojangles has to offer.”
Founded in Charlotte, N.C., in 1977, Bojangles had a short-lived run in New York in the 1980s before closing in 1986.
Today, there are more than 800 locations in 21 states. The closest to Long Island is in Piscataway, N.J.
