KiDS NEED MORE hosting HoLiDAY CHEER BUS Elf Ride and they need your help

|

For its fifth year, KiDS NEED MORE will be delivering buses filled with toys directly to the homes of ill children all over Long Island in an effort to make the holiday’s a little more special.

The local nonprofit is dedicated to enhancing the lives of children, families and young adults coping with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.

The HoLiDAY CHEER BUS Elf Ride will take place on Sunday, Dec. 22, where buses stocked with toy-delivering elves will make wishes come true for over 250 kids.

“We started this event knowing that all parents feel the pressure to make the season magical for their children, but when families are stressed with medical visits, painful treatments, and financial burdens, taking part in holiday festivities can be overwhelming,” said Melissa Firmes, president of KiDS NEED MoRE. “We wanted to make the experience not only wonderful for the children, but also as a gift to the entire family, and a way for everyone to enjoy the holiday together.”

Right now, the organization is looking for community partners for this year’s event. Other opportunities include volunteering to become an elf (to help deliver the gifts, sing carols and spread joy – pickup locations in Amityville and Miller Place), and by referring families in need of the donations.

If there is a family who has been coping with a serious illness and loss, the nonprofit is asking for the publics help for referrals by calling their office at 631-608-3155 or email at info@kidsneedmore.org
