Long Island Beach Bowls Acai Cafe has a new spot to grab refreshing acai bowls and smoothies.
And it’s minutes away from Stony Brook University.
L.I. Beach Bowls teamed up with Ralph’s Italian Ices at 1320-24 Stony Brook Road to help bring forth a joint venture.
“It is really nice and calm here in Stony Brook,” said L.I. Beach Bowls manager, Andy Arias.
Ralph’s of Stony Brook split its store location in a partnership with the acai bowl cafe.
“[Ralph’s owner Flora Vario] had two windows and didn’t have use for the other one,” explained Arias, who lives in Bellport.
The Stony Brook location marks the company’s third location along with Islip and Huntington — there is an additional spot in Babylon on its way.
Unlike Ralph’s, which is opened seasonly, L.I. Beach Bowls is opened year-round, seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Since opening in October, the acai eatery has made efforts to engage with the University by joining its Wolfie Wallet program, allowing students to make purchases from their accounts.
“The process [of becoming affiliated with SBU] was really nice, easy, and satisfying,” said Arias.
