Long Island Tutorial Services, which has emerged since 2011 as an educational support powerhouse in the state, is embarking on a hiring blitz across Long Island and the rest of New York, hiring teacher aides, speech, counseling and academic tutoring positions — virtual and in person.
Locally, L.I.T.S. is looking for in-person teacher aides in Dix Hills, Smithtown and Northport. Teacher aides requires background checks and high school graduation.
Virtual tutors do not need to live in NYS, but all are required to hold NYS teaching credentials.
Salaries depend on certification, with tutoring pay ranging from $30 to $40 per hour.
Counselors and speech and reading specialists are paid $50 to $70 per hour.
Teacher Aides pay ranges from $18 to $25 per hour.
