Long Islanders woke up to a crunchy blanket of snow Sunday that measured as high as 5.1 inches in one National Weather Service snowfall report.
Muttontown registered the highest reading on Long Island at 5.1 inches, according to NWS spotters. Suffolk’s highest reading was measured in Commack at 4.8 inches.
The lowest snowfall totals were reported in East Islip at 2.5 inches, and 2.8 inches in both Bethpage and Merrick.
The snow started around 7 p.m. Saturday and tapered off around 12:30 a.m.
Today, Sunday, will be mostly cloudy before gradually becoming sunny and breezy with a high near 39. Wind gusts will be as high as 25 mph.
Tonight will be mostly clear with a low around 24. Monday will be sunny with a high of 34.
