Port Washington’s Main Street is getting set to host the ultimate summer block party.
Not once, but twice this 2025 season.
Port Promenade is back for its sixth year, combining small-town charm with big-time fun for the North Shore.
The free community celebrations will be held Thursday, June 12, and again on July 17, transforming sections of Main Street into a walkable wonderland filled with live music, family games, outdoor dining and more.
June’s event runs from Library Drive to Central Avenue.
July’s party shifts up to the stretch between Port Washington Boulevard and Mackey Avenue.
Both nights go from 5 to 10 p.m.
“Now in it’s sixth year, Port Promenade promises to a provide memory-making event for families and friends who can come together to enjoy the best Port Washington has to offer,” said Holly Byrne, executive director of the Greater Port Washington Business Improvement District.
The BID is teaming up with Landmark on Main Street and the Port Washington Chamber of Commerce to organize the festivities — with support from the Port Washington Police Department and the Town of North Hempstead.
The June 12 event will feature a fashion show hosted by My Style Camp.
On July 17, things get a little funky with a silent disco — where everyone wears wireless headphones instead of listening to music through traditional loudspeakers — sponsored by The Doran Team at Daniel Gale Sotheby’s.
Each evening will have a mini golf course, lawn games, a Kids’ Messy Zone, and food options from Main Street restaurants that will be serving al fresco.
And the soundtrack for the night?
All local. Students from area music schools kick things off before local bands take the stage.
“Landmark on Main Street is proud to be a part of Port Promenade giving local talent the opportunity to perform for the community,” said Amanda Kowalczuk. “Landmark’s commitment to making the arts accessible aligns with the mission of Port Promenade to unite the people and businesses of Port Washington through shared activities and opportunities.”
Getting there is easy. Just hop on the LIRR to Port Washington and step right into the fun.
Free parking is also available on side streets, in municipal lots, and at the LIRR station after 3 p.m.
Rain date is July 31.
