|

A female-owned oyster company on the North Fork has just unveiled a novel way to offer freshly caught oysters to shellfish fanatics.

Even those who might find themselves with a hankering for bivalves at 4 a.m.

Introducing the Oyster Automat, from Little Ram Oyster Co. The company just made the big announcement today on social media.

“While we work towards being a part of building back the New York oyster industry, we also wanted to bring back the New York Automat!” writes Little Ram Oyster Company on Instagram.

The thing is stocked with Little Ram oysters, Bang-Bang sauce and seasoning, Calamity Jane clam dip and more, including shuck kits and swag.

Basically anything you need for an at-home oyster snack.

The new automat is located outside the company’s building at 61600 Main Rd. in Southold.

“Our offerings will always rotate but you can always count on freshly harvested Little Ram oysters!” the post reads. “We hope you love this vending experience as much as we do!”

According to The New York Times, Little Ram Oyster Co. was founded by two women who “left their city lives behind to raise mollusks.” Their oyster farm is now 2 million oysters strong.
