Ocean Beach Trading adding Kismet Coffee Co. and Bay Walk acai bowls

|

Premium coffee served up by skilled baristas, tasty açaí bowls and a wide array of prepared and packaged foods.

Things will never be the same at Ocean Beach Trading on Fire Island. The Bayberry Walk market – adjacent to the ferry terminal – is under new management and will have whole new look this spring and summer.

Headlining the changes is the addition of Kismet Coffee Company. It’ll be the third — and counting — location for owner Jackson Davis of Bay Shore. The first opened in Kismet on Fire Island in 2022; the second got cranking last November on Main Street in Bay Shore.

The market is also the new home of Bay Walk Cafe Açaí Bowls, which has moved from its prior location to make way for Ocean Beach’s newest restaurant, The Landing Bistro. The new tenants are part of an entirely new and modernized look brought in by a new management group led by Jon Randazzo and the owners of existing Ocean Beach businesses, including Castaway, CJ’s, Taco Beach Cantina and The Landing Bistro.

The market — vacated by the previous operator following the summer 2023 season — will also offer freshly baked goods, a deli, a salad bar and a wide selection of household goods. Catering options are also in the mix.

“We are thrilled to bring a beautiful market, stocked with the finest products, produce and selection to our community,” said Randazzo, who also co-owns Scoops and Beaches & Cream. “We can be relied upon for all the goods we’ve previously needed to purchase elsewhere or ferry over. We’re also so excited to bring an experienced coffee purveyor to our residents and visitors.”

Kismet Coffee Co. owner Davis had confirmed to GreaterLongIsland.com that a third location was in the works, to be located in Ocean Beach.

Beachgoers can look forward to Davis’ unique approach to coffee.

“Our approach to coffee is much different than what’s typical on Long Island,” Davis recently told GLI. “We treat coffee as a premium product, akin to wine or craft beer. We take a lot of pride in training our baristas, elevating what a cup of coffee can be.”
