Let’s start with the first paddleboarding company to hit Long Island: Long Island Stand-Up Paddle Boards or Long Island SUP opened in 2006 with their home base in Patchogue by Sunset Harbor.
They have since extended their tours to Fire Island, Heckscher Park, Connetquot River, Smithtown, Southampton, Lake George and Long Beach Island, N.J.
Along with paddleboard rentals and lessons, they offer kayaks, windsurfing, kiteboarding, surfing, SUP surfing and this year they added parasailing and tubing.
If you want a really cool way to celebrate, they also do Sweet 16s, bachelor and bachelorette parties, and private parties. From Flynn’s in Ocean Bay Park, Fire Island, folks can paddleboard on the ocean and there are SUP Fit and SUP Yoga classes.
In Patchogue, SUP Fit classes take place daily in July at 8:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m.
