Update: Even after a stunning rendition of Marvin Gaye’s “What’s Going On” that elicited a standing ovation from the America’s Got Talent judges Tuesday night, Patchogue’s own Christian Guardino will not be advancing to the finals next week.
He was one of 11 performers that were vying for five spots in the finals, and his fate was decided by viewers watching the show and casting digital votes for their favorites.
The judges have no say. The tallies were announced during Wednesday night’s show.
Christian’s mom, Beth, took to Facebook on Thursday to thank all of Christian’s family, friends and newfound fans for their support. And, she said, “Christian is doing great!”
