The Better Man Distilling Co.’s tasting room is now open for business.
Abby and Anthony Gruppuso, owners of the distillery, celebrated the grand opening this week in Patchogue.
The father-daughter team spent $1 million-plus to transform Patchogue’s old Blue Point brewery into their dream distillery.
“What a weird and difficult time to start a new business,” said Abby during the ribbon-cutting celebration. “It was touch and go for a while but I think being located in the village was our saving grace.”
Back in March, Better Man embedded itself in the community by setting up the area’s first-ever virtual bar crawl, which quickly sold out.
Now, the family is happy to share the tasting room with its patrons that features a 12-seat bar with plenty of lounge space.
There’s also a full kitchen through which Better Man offers small plate snacks.
