Roomors Gifts finds a new home in Lindenhurst; reopens this spring

|

After months of searching for a new storefront, Roomors Gifts owner Danielle Vergano is set to begin another chapter in her professional life, albeit in a different South Shore community than the one her gift shop called home for 41 years.

Having closed for good in Babylon Village on Christmas Eve, the shop is making the move west, to the up-and-coming Village of Lindenhurst.

Vergano said she plans to open at 39 W. Hoffman Ave. by the end of May or early June.

“Thank you to everyone who has supported us throughout the years, I am beyond blessed and grateful for all of your love and loyalty,” Vergano said in a statement on Facebook.

Vergano began working at Roomors when she was 16, and 18 years later, in 2018, she became the gift shop’s second owner when the previous proprietor, Pat Turner, retired.

And just two years later, she was forced to shut down when COVID-19 first hit Long Island.

She previously told greaterbabylon.com that when her lease was up in Babylon Village and the landlord didn’t renew it, she didn’t fight back. But she was not ready to give up on Roomors altogether.

She said she plans on keeping the established name and is looking forward to making the gift shop “her own” in its new Lindenhurst neighborhood.

“I am grateful for the friendships and connections we’ve made throughout our years in Babylon Village; you’ll always have our heart,” Vergano said on Facebook. “For now, we can’t wait to see what Lindenhurst has to offer!”
