Four beers, a stout pudding and a brand ambassador highlight the $100-a-head Irish feast

A Guinness ambassador is bringing the black stuff to the East End next week.

Rowdy Hall in Amagansett will host a Guinness Beer Pairing Dinner on Tuesday, Oct. 27, at 6 p.m., matching an Irish-inspired, multicourse menu with four beers from the Guinness lineup.

Michael Reardon, a Guinness brand ambassador, will lead diners through the pairings, discussing flavor, brewing history and the character of each pour as the courses come to the table.

Tickets cost $100 per person, plus tax and tip.

The night opens with passed appetizers and Guinness Draught. The lineup includes Guinness-braised short rib croquettes with horseradish crème fraîche, crispy oysters with a stout remoulade and malt vinegar, and bangers arancini made with Irish sausage, aged cheddar and Guinness mustard. A smoked salmon potato cake and a caramelized onion tartlet with whipped goat cheese round out the opening spread.

Harp Lager comes next with a family-style board of aged Irish cheddar and Cashel Blue cheese and spiced beef, served with pickled vegetables, house-made soda bread and Guinness-onion jam.

The main course is shepherd’s pie built on Guinness-braised lamb, pearl onions, crispy colcannon potatoes and bone marrow. It will be paired with Smithwick’s Ale.

Dessert keeps the theme going alive. Guinness stout pudding topped with whipped cream closes out the night, paired with Guinness Foreign Extra Stout.

Rowdy Hall, located at 177 Main St., is a longtime Amagansett pub known for its bar scene and classic pub fare. Tickets can be bought in person at the restaurant or by calling 631.324/8555.
