Snack Wrap returning to McDonald’s after 7 years, but under a new name

|

McDonald’s fans have been imploring the Chicago-based company to bring back the beloved Snack Wrap menu after it disappeared from restaurants in the U.S. some seven years ago.

Leading the charge on X were accounts such as @Fight4SnackWrap.

Even yesterday, X user @TheDiscFather lamented that “McDonald’s be doing everything except bringing the snack wrap back,” racking up 14.4K views in the process.

McDonald’s has heard you.

(Though, in this writer’s opinion, when Burger King unveiled its version of the chicken snack wrap this August, it was only a matter of time until McDonald’s relented.)

The New York Post has confirmed with McDonald’s USA president Joe Erlinger that the Snack Wrap will return, “but as an updated version,” under the chain’s McCrispy line.

To be sure, Greater Long Island’s own Nick Esposito said the Snack Wrap was fully available in Italy during a family trip there this summer. Esposito went to McDonald’s twice to gobble down his long-lost favorite McDonald’s offering, much to the chagrin of his wife. Here is photographic evidence:

A McDonald’s press release indicates the idea is to expand what was once its crispy chicken sandwich, now the McCrispy, into wraps and tenders — with plans to enter nearly all global markets in 2025.

“Today, the size of the company’s chicken business is on par with beef, as the company continues to aggressively expand through billion-dollar equities including McNuggets, McChicken, McCrispy and McSpicy” the release reads.

The wrap news comes amid McDonald’s highly publicized push to reinvent its burgers.

For those who remember burger-stuffed wrap items such as the Big Mac Wrap, first introduced in 2010, there is no indication burger wraps will be coming back. Nor does anyone seem to be demanding them.
