Greater East End coverage is funded in part by The Watershed Kitchen & Inn — a warm, stylish North Fork destination in S. Jamesport featuring elevated comfort food, craft cocktails and beautiful boutique accommodations.
For generations, a summer trip to Greenport has practically meant a stop at Claudio’s.
Now, the historic waterfront destination is entering a new era.
The iconic marina complex — a fixture on the North Fork since 1870 — is heading into summer 2026 with a revamped restaurant, a new Mediterranean-inspired beach club concept tied to Long Island music star Taylor Dayne, boutique shopping and even a dock-to-dine yacht experience connecting Sag Harbor and Greenport.
“We wanted to bring it back and make it fresh and new,” managing partner Celeste Fierro told Greater Long Island.
One of the most obvious changes this season is the return of the Claudio’s Restaurant, replacing the former Tavern & Grill concept.
Fierro said the goal was to create a more relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere while still preserving the property’s historic charm — including the legendary trapdoor beneath the bar dating back to Prohibition-era liquor smuggling operations.
Today, the focus is less speakeasy and more coastal comfort food.
The menu leans into seafood-forward American fare, alongside tavern classics, brunch dishes, craft cocktails and curated wines.
Elsewhere on the property, Claudio’s Waterfront has returned for another season of dockside dining, serving longtime favorites like fish tacos, lobster rolls and burgers overlooking the marina.
But perhaps the biggest buzz surrounds Saylor Beach House, the new dockside restaurant and bar launched in partnership with Grammy-nominated pop star Taylor Dayne.
The name combines Dayne and Fierro’s names, and the concept aims to channel the feel of a laidback European beach club, complete with seafood-heavy share plates, Mediterranean influences and live music.
“It never came to fruition because we’re both so busy,” Fierro said of the collaboration. “Then this space opened and it was perfect.”
The venue quietly debuted earlier this month with a waterfront performance from Dayne herself.
Adding to the resort-style feel, Claudio’s has also launched Le Shack Beach, a boho-inspired boutique selling beachwear, accessories, wellness products and home goods curated around the marina lifestyle.
And for visitors coming from the South Fork, Claudio’s is now partnering with Yacht Hampton on a seasonal “dock-and-dine” experience offering boat rides between Sag Harbor and Greenport throughout the summer.
The 40-minute trip allows guests to spend the afternoon dining, shopping and exploring Greenport before heading back by yacht later in the day.
More than 150 years after first opening on Greenport’s waterfront, Claudio’s appears to be betting that the future of the historic marina destination is equal parts nostalgia, nightlife and North Fork escape.
