You can skip the walk in the park with your dog today. Splish Splash and the Kent Animal Shelter have a way cooler option.
The Calverton water park invites its furry Long Island friends to make a splash at their annual Doggie Dip event from 10 a.m. to noon on Monday, Sept. 9.
The public is welcome to bring their dogs to the Kahuna Bay Wave Pool for a morning of watery fun. Admission is $15 per person and $10 per dog, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the Kent Animal Shelter, a local no-kill animal rescue organization in Calverton.
Guests and their four-legged companions can play fetch, mingle with other dogs, and even meet pups currently available for adoption through the Kent Animal Shelter. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about the shelter’s adoption process and make donations to support its mission.

All participating dogs must have a current rabies tag, collar, leash and license. Splish Splash said there is a limit of one dog per pet parent.
The Doggie Dip marks the official end of Splish Splash’s 2024 season.
