Steph Curry’s golf tour for underserved athletes heads to Bethpage

|

Steph Curry is bringing his game to Long Island — his golf game.

The NBA superstar’s UNDERRATED Golf Tour will make its final stop at Bethpage Black in Farmingdale from Sept. 15-17.

The event, dubbed the Curry Cup, serves as the fifth and final stop of a summer-long showcase featuring more than 100 top male and female student-athletes from underserved communities.

Curry, a four-time NBA champion, said the goal goes beyond birdies and scorecards — focusing instead on building confidence, developing leadership skills and helping young players navigate new opportunities.

“From day one, UNDERRATED Golf has never just been about playing the game,” Curry said. “It’s about creating access and opening doors for young athletes who might not have seen themselves in this space before.”

Inspired by Curry’s own journey as an overlooked athlete, the tour launched five years ago with a mission to expand participation among competitive golfers from diverse backgrounds.

The 2026 tour includes stops in Florida, Arizona, New Jersey and California before wrapping up on the same legendary Farmingdale course that hosted the Ryder Cup last September.

“We are honored to host the Curry Cup at Bethpage Black and to welcome these young athletes who have worked hard all season,” said New York State Parks Acting Commissioner Kathy Moser. “State Parks are places where everyone is welcome, and access to world-class venues helps open doors and create opportunity.”
