According to the National Weather Service, Stony Brook accumulated the most snow within the Greater Port Jeff coverage area with 9.1 inches, while Miller Place had 8 inches and Port Jefferson Station saw 7 inches.
Across Suffolk County, local measurements indicated Bay Shore had the most snowfall with 19.3 inches, with Patchogue registering 19 inches; people there went to sleep with about 4 to 6 inches on the ground and woke up to double or triple those numbers.
As of 7 a.m., the NWS had expected more snowfall in these areas with a rate of 1 to 2 inches per hour.
The highest snowfall amounts in Nassau County were measured in Old Bethpage (14.4), Massapequa Park (14.2) and Hicksville (14). See the full Suffolk list below.
