Ten restaurants that opened on Long Island in 2020, despite COVID-19

RELISH, HAUPPAUGE

After months of construction within the former Pizza Hut at 551 Hauppauge Road, Relish’s goal was to bring good food and atmosphere to its second location. (The first is in Kings Park.)

They opened in March and, after the COVID lockdowns, were able to serve diners in their outside patio this spring and eventually allow limited indoors seating.

That all kept the buzz going at Relish through the warmer months.

“It was busy all throughout the summer,” morning manager Nancy Fitzpatrick said in October. “And now breakfast is starting to pick up, as well.”
