The Miller Place-Rocky Point St. Patrick’s Parade is March 11

|

Start looking for a green outfit because the annual Miller Place-Rocky Point St. Patrick’s Day Parade is all set for Sunday, March 11.

This year, the Friends of St. Patrick are celebrating the 68th year running the event that draws thousands of people to the North Shore.

“After a long winter, everyone comes out after being shut in,” said James McElhone of the Friends of St. Patrick.

The parade starts in the Miller Place on the corner of 25A and Harrison Avenue at 1 p.m.

From there, local fire departments lead the marchers eastward, ending at the corner of Broadway and North Country Road in Rocky Point.

The near 3-mile long parade is filled with performances, from dancing to bagpiping.

“We are always striving to make it as entertaining and family friendly as possible,” says McElhone.
