This is what community involvement looks like. Well, at least in 2025.
Greater Long Island recently posted a photo of the old Boomers property in Medford (formerly a Bullwinkle’s Family Food ‘n Fun Park) on Facebook.
We then asked what people would like to see come to the vacated park, which closed in 2019 and never reopened. The ideas poured in.
We chose a bunch, to put them to a vote. (Scroll down for the poll.)
About the land
According to online property records, 655 Long Island Avenue, was last sold in 1999 for $1.5 million. NYS records show the property is owned by a real estate investment trust listed by the state as a foreign business corporation with a Maryland jurisdiction. Boomers, now weeded over, sits on 8.6 acres that’s located just south of the LIE.
No plans for the property appear to be on file with the Town of Brookhaven.
