The Class of 2020 is the “single inductee” this year into Bayport-Blue Point High School athletic department’s Phantoms Hall of Fame.
“You entered the world [around] the 9/11 attacks and graduated during the COVID-19 pandemic,” the award states. “We recognize and honor your courage, resolve and resiliency in the face of these historical times.”
The athletic department each year selects a group of remarkable alumni student-athletes into its Hall of Fame. This year was different — considering the unprecedented cirumstances that the COVID-19 pandemic has brought.
“With great pride, Bayport-Blue Point School District welcomes this exceptional class into this prestigious group,” the district said in a statement.
