Back in December, representatives for Tractor Supply Co. told Greater Long Island that the company’s third Suffolk County location would be opening in Islandia in late spring or early summer.
The Tennessee-based retailer now appears to be making good on that promise.
The Islandia location will host a grand opening on Saturday, July 5, with a soft opening the week prior starting Saturday, June 28, a Tractor Supply spokeswoman told GLI on Friday.
The new location has taken shape within the former Stop & Shop, which was subdivided to make space for two retailers.
Tractor Supply will be on the south side, with a Burlington being built out on the north side. The plaza’s old fountains were ripped out late last year to make way for more parking. And a Starbucks is currently being built across the lot.
This news comes on the heels of Greater Long Island reporting a fourth Tractor Supply is now being built in West Babylon.
That store “is now set to have its grand opening in early fall of this year,” a representative said.
What’s described by Tractor Supply Co. as a “rural lifestyle retailer,” the company’s stores offer farm supplies, animal and pet feed, clothing, home decor, seasonal goods, tools, fencing and more.
As of March 29, 2025, the company operated precisely 2,311 Tractor Supply stores in 49 states, the TSC website reads.
The company also runs 206 Petsense by Tractor Supply stores in 23 states.
Tractor Supply has been in business for over 85 years and employs more than 50,000 people.
