So this one came as a surprise.
On the heels of announcing two new stores are being planned for Selden and Oceanside on Long Island, a banner just went up in Bay Shore indicating an Ulta Beauty location is “opening soon” at Gardiner Manor Mall.
This also means the South Shore Mall Ulta Beauty store will be relocating, with an anticipated opening date expected sometime this summer for the new location, according to the company.
That will coincide with a closure at the mall, which is already losing a Forever 21.
The three Long Island locations are among some 200 Ulta locations planned for across the U.S. and possibly beyond by 2027, according to company officials.
The Oceanside Ulta Beauty is being built on Long Beach Road within a former Rite Aid at Oceanside Plaza, Ulta reps previously confirmed. That store is expected to open in the spring of 2025.
Then, in the “second half’ of 2025, a Selden store is slated to open within College Plaza, which is anchored by a ShopRite, on Middle Country Road.
The Bay Shore location, where scaffolding is currently covering the storefront, is also being built in a former Rite Aid.
Ulta, headquartered in Bolingbrook, Ill., separates itself from its competitors by stocking an array beauty tools, along with cosmetics, and their own hair care line. Nearly all Ulta stores also offer salon services, typically with a handful of chairs, within the retail space.
The brand does not currently operates stores outside of the U.S., though is reportedly eyeing Mexico.
Ulta already operates over a dozen locations on Long Island, from Valley Stream to Riverhead.
