Uncle Joe’s in Hampton Bays open again after massive renovation

|

He’s baaack! Or, rather, they’re back.

Following a complete reimagining of the iconic Hampton Bays pizza shop, Uncle Joe’s Pizza & Parlour is celebrating its grand re-opening. The new majority owners, Hampton Bays couple Tana and Scott Gerber, have completed a total renovation.

Changes include a nostalgic, 1960s-style slice shop and Uncle Joe’s Parlour, an intimate wine room with high ceilings and thousands of bottles on display. The original owner, Guiseppe “Joe” Sciara, has officially retired.

Last June, Sciara sold the business to Hamptons Brands, which is led by the Gerbers. The Sciara family maintained a minority stake in the company.

The Parlour

Millions of Long Islanders and summer tourists have dined at Uncle Joe’s since its founding in 1968.

“It has been a privilege to preserve this landmark restaurant to ensure it can be enjoyed by generations to come,” Scott Gerber told GreaterLongIsland.com. “The newly renovated flagship location is both a nostalgic tribute to the hamlet that has loved and supported Uncle Joe’s for decades, as well as a testament to the growing excitement around Hampton Bays becoming a culinary destination.”

As GreaterLongIsland.com previously reported, the Gerbers are set to open two other Uncle Joe’s restaurants, in Miller Place and Wading River. Several new locations will be announced in the coming weeks, ownership said.

The Uncle Joe’s in Hampton Bays is located at 42 E. Montauk Highway. It is open Sunday to Thursday, from 11 a.m.-9 p.m., and Fridays and Saturdays, 11 a.m.-10 p.m.

As part of its grand re-opening celebration, the Hampton Bays flagship Uncle Joe’s has introduced two new programs for communities and customers.

Uncle Joe’s Social Club is the pizzeria’s free loyalty program, offering members a free pizza pie on their birthdays, a $20 catering gift card for every $100 spent on catering orders, free gelato with every meal for kids ages 10 and younger, and other members-only benefits.

Uncle Joe’s Neighborhood, is the business’ philanthropic program. The shop gives back to local nonprofits, charitable causes and public schools through in-store fundraisers and catering donations.
