Virginia woman charged in hit-and-run that killed Hamptons real estate agent Sara Burack

Southampton Town Police on Friday arrested a Virginia woman in connection with the hit-and-run crash that killed a popular Hamptons real estate agent in Hampton Bays early Thursday.

Amanda Kempton, 32, is charged with leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident involving a fatality, police said.

Kempton’s arrest follows an investigation into the crash that occurred about 2:45 a.m. Thursday near Villa Paul restaurant at 133 Montauk Highway West in Hampton Bays.

Sara Burack, 40, a pedestrian, was struck. She died later Thursday at Stony Brook University Hospital.

Burack had starred in Netflix’s “Million Dollar Beach House.”

Police said Kempton is being held overnight on Friday and will be arraigned on Saturday at Southampton Town Justice Court, police said.
