Walgreens set to open Hampton Bays store July 24, fills pharmacy gap left by Rite Aid

Hampton Bays residents will have a new option for prescriptions and everyday essentials this Friday, as Walgreens opens the doors to its new store on Montauk Highway.

The grand opening is set for 8 a.m. at the site of the former Rite Aid (50 Montauk Highway), which closed in June and left the hamlet’s Stop & Shop as the only remaining pharmacy option for many residents.

Since then, some shoppers have driven to Southampton Village or to Barths Pharmacy in East Quogue to fill prescriptions.

The new store sits in the same East Montauk Highway plaza as King Kullen and Starbucks. Walgreens leadership, store team members and community guests are expected at the opening.
