Two whales put on a show for beachgoers at Davis Park on Thursday, and one lucky visitor captured it on video.
Vinny Paganica, who was spending the day at the beach with his family, spotted the magnificent sea creatures just off the shore around noon. He, along with many others, pulled out a phone and began recording.
“Everyone was literally standing up watching,” said Paganica. “It was like the whales knew and were putting on a show for us.”
The whales, in tandem, breached back and forth for about 10 minutes, according to Paganica.
“I’ve been coming to Davis my whole life, and that was the first time I ever saw that,” he said
