What to know for Patchogue’s first-ever Pride parade and celebration

|

Patchogue’s first-ever Pride parade hits the downtown this Sunday, June 4.

The parade, set to start at noon, will take place on Main Street, commencing at Route 112 and heading west from there. Spectators can look forward to an array of colorful floats, marchers, and community organizations participating in the procession.

It should be good marching weather. The National Weather Service forecast for Sunday shows a high temperature of 61 degrees. The sky is expected to be partly cloudy, with a low chance of rain in the morning.

Following the parade, the festivities will continue at Stereo Garden in Patchogue, where the PrideAPalooza event will take center stage.

PrideAPalooza will feature live music performances, captivating drag shows, and an assortment of vendors. The event begins at 3 p.m. and lasts until 11:30 p.m. Click here for more details on it.

James Diele-Stein, who owns Patch Print Ship & More in the village and co-chairs the newly formed Greater Patchogue Chamber of Commerce’s Pride committee, expressed his enthusiasm for the first-ever Pride parade in Patchogue.

“We realized we have such a big, big following here in Patchogue that we can do a parade, too,” Diele-Stein previously told Greater Long Island. “We have such a tight-knit community. The outpouring of love and support from people who are just stepping up to the plate are already making this an incredible experience for everybody.”
