The XFL has pulled together a highlight reel of Jack Coan, showcasing the Sayville product’s talents and making it clear why three NFL teams invited him to workouts this spring.

The San Antonio Brahmas rookie quarterback dazzles in the eight-minute video “Best of Jack Coan” posted to YouTube by the league on Sunday, darting from the pocket to create opportunities and throwing and completing passes downfield with authority.

Coan, 24, nearly led San Antonio to the playoffs in the XFL’s comeback season, finishing with 1,403 passing yards, six touchdowns and six interceptions. He also rushed 26 times for 108 yards.

An undrafted free agent who spent the 2022 pre-season trying out for Indianapolis before becoming one of the Colts’ final cuts, was invited to workouts by several other teams last fall. This spring, he practiced with the New York Jets, Seattle and San Francisco.

Coan, a member of Sayville’s Class of 2017, was impressive in college, playing three seasons for Wisconsin, and then his final season at Notre Dame in 2021.

With the Fighting Irish, he threw for more than 3,100 yards, with 25 touchdowns and seven interceptions. The team finished 11-2, including a tough loss to Oklahoma State in the Fiesta Bowl.
