Pinot’s Palette is teaming up with community news website GreaterBayShore to offer a special paint-and-sip event for area businesses called “Let’s Paint Main.”
To be eligible for this free event, you must own or represent a South Shore storefront between Robert Moses Causeway and Heckscher State Parkway — the news site’s coverage area.

Storefront photos must then be emailed to BayShore@pinotspalette.com.
The event will be held on Monday, July 17, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., with a maximum of 40 seats to paint — though feel free to bring a friend to sip and mingle.
GreaterBayShore will then run a slideshow of the paintings on the site.
Pinot’s Palette studios is located at 61 West Main Street in Bay Shore, under the new Village Place apartments.
This is way of saying thank you to the community from both Pinot’s Palette and GreaterBayShore, which are each celebrating one-year in business this summer.
“There’s been so many cool, unique business that have opened on Main Street and elsewhere in the area just this past year alone,” said website publisher Michael White.
Representatives of nonprofit groups and governmental agencies are also invited to paint.
GreaterBayShore is often among the first local news agencies to interview business owners as they open their doors to the public. Included among those businesses last year was Pinot’s Palette.
Pinot’s Palette owners Brian and Karen Norris are hosting the event at their studio free-of-charge, but both local companies are hoping attendees will consider leaving a donation for Sunrise Day Camp — Long Island, which is for children with cancer and their siblings. Sunrise Day Camps and its year-round programs are always free of charge, with no cost ever to any families.
“This is part of the reason why I decided to open Pinot’s Palette, to bring together the community in which I reside and hopefully make a difference for some folks in need,” said Karen Norris.
HOW IT WORKS
The “Let’s Paint Main” event mimics Pinot’s Palette Project Pet class (watch video) where guests follow the guidance of an art instructor in completing a painted pet portrait in just three hours. The class starts with a scan of your pet’s photo on to a 16×20 canvas. For this event, each business owner or representative will start with a scanned photo of his or her business storefront.
Pinot’s Palette will lead all invited guests in achieving a beautiful painting of their business while creating memories and mingling with other owners.
