The friendly cocktail competition South Shore Shakedown was a hit once again at Bay Shore’s TJ Finley’s.
The second-annual event, which featured eight bars/restaurants, raised $2,000 for the local nonprofit Gavin’s Got Heart on Wednesday night.
All the competitors faced-off to see who could make the best drinks using alcohol supplied by the event’s sponsor, Pernod Ricard USA.
There were two prizes: the people’s choice and a judge’s award.
Tullulah’s, which won last year’s judge’s choice, earned the heart of the crowd with a people’s choice win. Sayville’s South Shore Dive, a newcomer to the event, won the judge’s choice.
“This year’s event did not disappoint,” said the event’s organizer, Drew Dvorkin, who also co-owns TJ Finley’s. “The level of complexity this year was impressive and was inspirational to see this generation of young bartenders coming together for such a worthy cause.”
