Sayville high school graduate Kaitlyn Ross has been named a captain of the women’s soccer team at Wagner College for the 2019 season.
The three-time NEC Fall Academic Honor Roll honoree and two-time Fall Commissioner’s Honor Roll member started 11 matches in 2018. She was also a team captain last fall.
In her first three seasons with the Staten Island-based college, the defender appeared in 42 matches, including 37 starts.
In high school, Ross was a varsity player for three seasons, helping the Golden Flashes to a 2013 Suffolk County championship. She was an All-County selection in 2014 and 2015, and an Academic 2013 All-Conference selection.
Ross also played lacrosse for Sayville and served as president of the National Honor Society at the high school.
