Ollie’s is set to host a grand opening Thursday at its new location in Riverhead.
The discount store chain’s second Long Island shop is in the space formerly occupied by Walmart. Ollie’s, which boasts “Good Stuff Cheap” underneath its title, also has a store on Middle Country Road in Selden.
As part of its kickoff event that starts at 9 a.m., Ollie’s is offering savings of up to 70% off name-brand items.
The new Ollie’s is located at 767 Old Country Road, next to Restaurant Depot. The store will feature a wide range of products, including food, housewares, flooring, books, clothing and toys. The chain prides itself on its large inventory of high-quality goods at accessible prices.
Ollie’s stores provide a treasure hunt of sorts shopping experience where inventory varies frequently. The chain sources its products from closeouts, excess inventory and overstock from major retailers.
Ollie’s operates 551 stores across the country, including more than a dozen opening this fall. The video below gives you an idea of what the discount store chain is all about.
