The gift of more Lucharitos is coming this holiday season.
That’s because the locally beloved Tex-Mex chain is expanding its presence on Long Island with two new locations this month.
The first, located in Ronkonkoma, will open on Dec. 9 at the new Station Yards development across from the LIRR station. This 1,500-square-foot space will offer indoor seating for 35 and outdoor seating for 45.
The second location will mark Lucharitos’ debut in Nassau County. In Mineola, Lucharitos is set to open its largest location yet, a sprawling 4,000-square-foot restaurant on the ground floor of the Morgan Parc residential complex at 199 2nd Street. This location will include a walk-up order counter serving the chain’s best-selling tacos, breakfast items, churros, soft-serve ice cream and more.
Marc LaMaina, owner and founder of Lucharitos, confirmed the Mineola opening in a social media post on Wednesday, adding that it will be ready to welcome guests this holiday season. LaMaina also held a hiring event last week in Mineola.
“We’re beyond excited to open our doors in Mineola,” said LaMaina. “This new location reflects our passion for delivering fresh, high-quality tacos and a fun, family-friendly environment. We can’t wait to welcome the community in for some holiday cheer!”
An official grand opening date in Mineola hasn’t been announced yet.
When both restaurants are up and running, Lucharitos will boast seven locations across the Island. The chain started in Greenport in 2012 and has since expanded to Center Moriches, Riverhead, Mattituck, and Melville.
