Trader Joe’s in Miller Place looks ready — but no opening date yet

|

After months of build-out and neighborhood buzz, the long-anticipated Trader Joe’s in Miller Place is visibly nearing its debut — but a grand opening date still hasn’t been set.

Visibly, the space at 300/302 Route 25A looks ready to go: some shelves are stocked, the iconic red shopping carts are lined up, and the parking lot has been paved and striped.

Yet workers on site told Greater Long Island that they haven’t been informed of an official opening day — and a company spokesperson confirmed that a date has not been determined.

LI’s eighth Trader Joe’s

The 13,500-square-foot store — which received approval from the Brookhaven Town Board in late 2024 — will mark Trader Joe’s easternmost location on Long Island and its eighth store in Nassau and Suffolk counties.

Trader Joe’s has been installing its signature signage and finishing the interior build-out in recent weeks, sure signs that the finish line is close.

The company typically keeps exact opening details under wraps until just weeks before launch.

The Miller Place Trader Joe’s is expected to draw steady traffic from the likes of Mount Sinai, Sound Beach and Rocky Point, where many shoppers now must travel roughly 30 minutes to reach the nearest existing Trader Joe’s store in Lake Grove.
