The coffee game just got a little tastier on the South Shore.
Doh’Ghaar Cafe, located at 2101 Wantagh Ave. in Wantagh, opened earlier this month with a lineup of specialty lattes that owner Usman Ashraf says you won’t find at the big-name chains.
“The big name coffee chains don’t have flavors that we have like Biscoff, tiramisu, pistachio and rose,” Ashraf told Greater Long Island. “Those are our specialty drinks, they are my mixes.”
Beyond the specialty creations, the drink menu features traditional favorites like espresso, cappuccino and hot chocolate, along with a variety of non-alcoholic mojitos.
“We have something for everyone’s tastes,” said Ashraf. “We wanted to make it so people can come here and just relax.”
That welcoming vibe extends to the food menu.

Guests can opt for American favorites such as a Buffalo Chicken Panini and avocado toast, or lighter bakery options including Nutella and pistachio croissants.
The café also showcases flavors from Ashraf’s heritage, with Pakistani staples like bun kababs — a lentil patty topped with mint and cilantro sauce — and chaat, a mix of chickpeas, yogurt and potatoes.
“That’s my background, so we wanted something that community would enjoy as well,” said Ashraf. “The name Doh’Ghaar also comes from Pakistan, meaning two caves.”
He added, “I’m a very outgoing person and I love to eat, so I wanted to open this place to give people the best tasting food and drinks.”
Doh’Ghaar Cafe is open Tuesday through Thursday from noon to 10 p.m., Fridays from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 11 p.m. The café is closed Mondays.
