Outrage over a Hauppauge goose abuse case is now backed by a swelling cash incentive.
The reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible is up to $7,500, Suffolk County SPCA officials said.
A white Jeep Grand Cherokee was caught on video deliberately running over several geese on Wireless Boulevard in Hauppauge, SPCA officials said.
The footage, captured April 15 about 9:50 p.m. near 375 Wireless Blvd., shows the vehicle targeting and running over the waterfowl, according to the SPCA. In the video, officials said, “the driver appears to return to the area and slow down when observing geese, suggesting intentional and repeated acts of cruelty.”
Two additional geese were struck in front of 100 Wireless Blvd. the same night, authorities said. Geese were also struck during an April 4 incident about 10 p.m. in front of 375 Wireless Blvd.
