The embattled grandson of late Gambino crime boss John Gotti now faces domestic violence charges after Nassau Police say he attacked his girlfriend at his East Norwich home — just weeks before he is due to report to federal prison on a COVID fraud conviction.

Carmine Gotti Agnello, 40, was arrested Wednesday night and charged with second-degree criminal mischief, third-degree assault and criminal obstruction of breathing, cops said.

Police said officers responded to Agnello’s Mill River Road home at 10:20 p.m. Tuesday after a verbal dispute between Agnello and a 29-year-old woman escalated into a physical attack.

Agnello allegedly slapped and punched the victim multiple times, then grabbed her around the neck and applied pressure, making it difficult for her to breathe, police said. He then allegedly smashed her cellphone on the ground, breaking it.

The victim left the scene and contacted police. Agnello was located and arrested without incident the next night, according to authorities.

Agnello pleaded not guilty at Nassau County First District Court in Hempstead on Thursday and was released without having to post bail. He was issued a temporary order of protection.

The arrest comes roughly six weeks before Agnello is due to report to federal prison.

In April, U.S. District Court Judge Nusrat Choudhury sentenced Agnello to 15 months in federal prison and two years of supervised release after he pleaded guilty to one count of wire fraud tied to three fraudulent Small Business Administration loans he received during the COVID-19 pandemic. He is required to report July 20 to begin serving his sentence.

Agnello’s grandfather, John Gotti — known as “The Teflon Don” — died in federal prison in Missouri in 2002 following convictions in multiple mob-related murders. Agnello’s mother is Victoria Gotti, daughter of the late mob boss and a former reality television personality.
